Eternal Vol. 2 - V/A Compilation

Eternal is raw and unapologetically queer, showing the trans experience through the unfiltered lens of a community presenting itself to the world. There is no guidance or handholding for those on the outside, like a privileged glimpse into a sanctuary.

About Eternal Volume 2

Featuring a diverse group of music producers from around the world, exude records' Eternal Vol. 2 V/A compilation is the followup to the critically acclaimed Eternal Vol. 1 of 2025. Eternal Vol. 2 was released on March 27th, 2026 - a few days prior to the annual International Trans Day of Visibility - and continues mx.pinky and her partner enby faerie’s mission of presenting the voices of trans, non-binary and gender non-confirming creators, with all the joy and grief their experiences entail. Transition, gender and the body are once again major themes throughout the 13 tracks, while the musical register varies from club tools to quieter pieces and even spoken word poetry.

The compilation is ripe with certified DJ tools, like “ConTr4Tempos”, a languorous, spiky decon club workout composed by Lisbon mainstay ASTREA and multi-hyphenate Brazilian artist MX; “Got Your Back”, a wonky slowed-down footwork hybrid that captures the restless feeling of simmering rage from Brussels producer metasepia; Berlin/Rio de Janeiro Folly Ghost’s “Fleshware Update”, a furiously faced, cyberpunk-themed thumping techno banger where the words “customize my body” are repeated almost like an incantation over a nasty bassline and hammer-like flourishes; and Brazilian Sanni Est‘s MIA baile edit, which sounds so sleek it could easily be taken for a genuine collaboration with the iconoclastic MC. The chorus (“Freedom is a state of mind / What you’re gonna do with mine?”) is oddly timely, taking on a more profound meaning in light of the current political climate, whether it makes one think of trans people’s rights being stripped away in the West or the multiple ongoing genocides worldwide.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, label founders mx.pinky and enby faerie present an introspective poem written during the couple’s stay in the bucolic setting of a cottage in the German alps, as mx.pinky was recovering from gender-affirming surgery. Local field recordings and trembling synths create an eerie backdrop for enby faerie’s touching words.

In the mid-tempo realm, “lounge beat” by [g], a new project from NYC producer Russell E.L. Butler is a playful, scratchy illbient offering where small sounds buzz, bounce and vibrate like a tiny ecosystem. Scottish-Iranian Miri Malek delivers another crepuscular, oscillating modular synth critter with “folly222”, while Black Berlin-based producer MiZayo offers a dreamy d’n’b sci-fi ballad filled with ethereal vocals and cosmic pads.

Eternal Vol. 2 is as much a celebration and an act of resilience as it is a particularly exciting collection of tracks tracing various contemporary currents in electronic music. Proceeds from compilation sales are split between mutual aid organization Trans*sexworks Berlin, the artists and the trans-run label.
